The church hosted, over 260 kids and adults from 11 parishes from 9 different states. Jack McFadden talked about his experience with his crew of kids building trundle beds. Jack had a conservative vision of how many beds would be completed. This included cutting, sanding and painting. He was pleasantly surprised to find that his crew was so focused and energetic they did not want to stop even for lunch. At one point they ran out of sand paper and rather than waiting for Jack to go to the store, one of the team sprinted to Rocky Ragano’s house to acquire more. That’s enthusiasm! They finished the beds far beyond his original expectations. He enjoyed working with the team and looks forward to doing it again next year. There was a nice article in the Calvert Recorder.

Words
Words have been
around a long time
have a life of their own,
great historic proclamation like,
These words are self evident,
and God save the King.
But the granddaddy has to be
an act of faith uttered
by a man seeking help,
words, slightly changed,
said every hour
of every day,
around the known world,
for some two thousands years.
‘Lord, I am not worthy that
You should come under my
Roof, but only say the word,
and my soul shall be healed.’
