MEETING HIGHLIGHTS
February 1, 2010

1.  Opening Prayer:  The opening was given by a George Sullivan

2. Welcome:  The president welcomed everyone and briefly covered the agenda for the evening.  We especially want to welcome two new members, Daryl Kupper and Chris Albresch, (Pete’s son)  There were 25 members present for the meeting.

3. Secretary’s Report: The January meeting highlights were previously distributed to all members via e mail.  As there were no corrections or additions, the highlights were accepted as distributed and will be posted by Jack McFadden on the Church website.

4. Treasurers Report:  Maurice reported an event balance of about $1,600.  This is much larger than the club usually carries and may includes some funds that we owe for the events.  The President and Treasurer will meet to review and discuss the numbers with the Church budget people.  There was much discussion on if we should donate to the church or save it for a special project.  We were all in agreement on giving it to a worthy cause within the St John Vianney Community.  No decision was made at this time.

5. Pastor’s Report:

·        Father reported that Lynn Elter’s business had a fire that caused much damage.  Many of the men’s club helped with the repairs.  Father was happy to report that they are up and running again.  Father wanted to especially thank all those who helped.  (See attached list.)

·        The start date for the Vianney Room kitchen remodeling is schedule for February 15th and they will need help with moving equipment to make room for the new appliances.

·        There will be 5 from our church going to Nicaragua with a videographer to report on our activities there.

·        The RCIA retreat will be coming to our church.  Schedule for March 11th.

·        After March 1st, the second cottage will become available.  Father would like to fix it up for a retiring priest, Father “Aliata”

6 Activity Reports: Old Business:
